OMG, finally a topic I have way too much firsthand experience and knowledge about! (credentials: official crybaby) Focusing mostly on the area around and directly under the eyes as this is where the tears are: **Mascara/Lashes:** Even though waterproof mascaras are far better than regular ones, I find that some smudging is pretty much inevitable. So instead of mascara, I opt for falsies! * The correct **Lash glue** is going to be your best friend here. I've tried almost every brand out there, and have to say that the **House of Lashes brush on lash glue** is 100% cry proof. It's VERY sticky to the point of being a bit of a pain to remove at the end of the night--but this is a *great* thing if we're aiming for cry-proof! **Duo Lash Adhesive** has been my regular every day glue for decades. It dries down to this rubbery texture which makes it semi water resistant, but I've definitely sweated/cried them off before, especially when wearing lashes with thinner bands. * For the **falsies** themselves, I found that the thicker the lash band, the better they withstood water and oils. I personally recommend the ***House of Lashes*** **Iconic Lite/Iconic Mini** or ***Lily Lashes*****' 3D MINK/3D Faux Mink** Lines (specifically the Miami, Doha, and the Megan). Although these are a little dramatic for every day wear, usually when I'm crying it's after a wild night out with the girls. But if all of those are still too dramatic for your personal preference and want to keep a more natural less dramatic look, I swear by the ***Ardell*** **Demi Wispies** (one of my HGs!) and the ***Kiss*** **Natural lashes** * Or, if you have a special occasion and think it'll be worth the splurge, get a set of **professional lash extensions**. They're expensive, but they're 100000% cry proof (you're actually SUPPOSED to wash them regularly!), and you'll have pretty lashes for a couple weeks. I even skip eyeliner when I have lash extensions! **Eye Makeup:** * **Primer:** I have extremely oily eyelids, and this a HUGE pain for me. I've only found *one* product that's ever allowed my razor sharp cat eye-liner all day, which was the Too Faced Shadow Insurance 24+ Hour Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer (the one that came in a squeeze tube). Unfortunately, they not only repackaged but also reformulated for the worse in 2021. It went from my HG to just meh, similar to Urban Decay's shadow primer which underperforms by a huge disappointing margin IMO. I haven't had a chance to try yet, but heard that the Milani brand eye primer or NYX's Ultimate Shadow & Liner Primer are close and much more affordable dupes! * Eyeliner: This is a hard one. Even with the best primers, every eyeliner is going to run/smudge at least a bit. Eyeliner is the one makeup product I wear the most, and I find myself still reaching for **KVD's Tattoo liquid eyeliner** (brush tip). I've cried this off for sure, but the smudging is very minimal and doesnt streak down the way the Rare Beauty liner does. **Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner** also holds up well, as does Wet & Wild's Break Up Proof Eyeliner. If you're more of a gel/pencil eyeliner person, Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On waterproof eyeliner is also a solid choice! * **Face makeup:** Urban Decay All Nighter Setting spray. Keeps everything in place!

- Better Than Sex mascara - melted straight off, honestly didn’t do anything for my lashes either - Wonderskin - blotchy, kind of a pain to apply, doesn’t last - Milk jelly lip stain - no color payoff and doesn’t last. Seriously, I don’t even know what it’s doing. - Nyx epic ink eyeliner - didn’t stay on - Kat Von D Beauty Tattoo liner - didn’t stay on . . . . . . . **Now for what’s worth the hype to me:** - Natasha Denona I Need a Warm - perfect selection of warm tones that are blendable and great for everyday wear. - Urban Decay Primer Potion - saves my eyeshadow from my greasy monolid. - Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray - my best friend, a makeup artist, said >!a hooker could give someone a blowjob in a hurricane!< and her makeup would stay on with this stuff lmao - Maybelline super stay matte ink liquid lipstick - in Pioneer. A gorgeous red that I can wear all day. I’ve worn it to the dentist during a teeth cleaning. It does stay on all day, and I’m not careful with my lipstick at all. Plus it’s only $8 - Lancôme Cils Booster XL & Lash Idôle. My eyelids are greasy. My face is greasy. My lashes are long, but thin. Makeup wants to melt off, but this stuff manages to stay on all day and it makes my eyelashes stand out without looking unnatural. - Beauty Creations eyeshadow singles - they’re glittery, beautiful, easy to apply with your fingers, and so sparkly. They’re also only $5 and they stack magnetically. - Lancôme Bifacil eye makeup remover. I can get all of my eye makeup off with one cotton round, some bifacil and a little patience.

Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray! I've tried a bunch of other brands and when I inevitably go back to All Nighter, I'm always surprised by how insanely long my makeup stays on.
Thread Analysis: The user is discussing Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation and asking for alternatives.
So you probably already know this, but make sure your face is moisturized before applying your foundation. You can also try applying a thinner layer to see if that helps. My last idea would be to apply a dewy finishing spray (Urban Decay All nighter dewy, Milani Make it Last Dewy) to see if that helps! If that doesn’t help, I’d say, yeah, you probably need a different foundation. Sometimes our body chemistry just doesn’t work with some products.

🖤🖤Also I just saw that you said you use Milani setting spray and I personally thought it didn’t make my makeup last that long!! I like the nyx glue one or the urban decay all nighter if you wanna splurge a little!!!

I wore my usual makeup and a very heavy layer of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to my father in law’s funeral and my makeup stayed flawless. I’m sorry that you’re going through something difficult. I hope you are loved and supported by people around you and that Friday will pass with as much ease as possible ❤️🩹 Sending you a warm internet hug

Looks good! Just one suggestion from someone who did their own makeup for their wedding. I would invest in a setting spray. I used the Urban Decay all-nighter, but there are heaps of good ones out there now. It held the makeup in place perfectly.
Thread Analysis: The user is discussing a specific product (Mac paint pot) and mentions consistency in re-purchasing.
Def a product repeater here. I have repurchased UD Primer Potion, UD All Nighter Setting Spray, Bobbi Brown Gel Liner Pot, Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base, NYX Microbrow Pencil, NYX Thick It Stick It, Glossier Boy Brow, Maybelline Lash Sensational, and the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Setting Spray. They're staples I don't buy alternatives for. I used to repurchase Laura Mercier translucent setting powder, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, and the ELF Hydrogrip Primer but my skin has gone from oil to dry these days. I actually used to only wear matte monochromatic eyeshadow (like Koi which was a mustard yellow Colourpop had) and then in 2020 I switched to ultra glitter and shimmers! I have def hopped on the blush train these days too, as well as redder lipsticks versus dusty rose.

Urban decay setting spray has been my go to for like 10 years! It’s honestly been unbeatable for me

Urban Decay all nighter spray - if I can dance in that stuff in crowded clubs for 4 hours at a time and look like I just did my make up, you can too! I swear by it. Also I recommend this technique of sandwiching the applications. For example: primer on eyes is a must and after you do your eye makeup SPRAY. Fan yourself dry, Then put eyeshadow on again, then spray to set. Do the rest of your face, powder spray powder, like a sandwich. Bring a fan 🪭 and if your face is getting sweaty, fan and touch up powder. If you are going in lipstick- especially red- bring a wash cloth with you to wipe your mouth after eating & drinking to reapply a fresh lip after a few hours.

👆This! I had the same concern for a wedding in the carribean where it was hot and humid. UD all nighter spray was a god send and the sandwiching method is so helpful. I just got a travel sized version of the spray in case I didn’t love it but ended up loving it!
