- Mani/ Pedis: I bought a $30 foot spa from Amazon, $8 callus remover and a $10 40 pack of pumice stones. Twice a month I will sit next to my husband watching a show, while I do my own pedi. Took a few rounds but honestly I now get the same results as a the salon. As for the mani, same thing but I use drug store press ons. - Hair Gloss: L’Oréal Le Color gloss gives me the same results as the hair salon, but I’m spending $10 a month instead of $60 plus tip. - Makeup: I’ll splurge on a NARS foundation when they go on sale at Ulta, but my go tos now for everything else are drug store. - Brows: learnt to thread and tint my brows instead of the salon. - Body Waxing: once again, bought a $30 warmer off Amazon, DIY YT videos. - Perfume: designer who? Marshall’s finds for day to day, free YSL / Killian samples for date nights. - Facials: Was gifted a face steamer, bought a $15 ion tool. Korean $1 sheet masks after. Walgreens has an excellent dupe for Paula’s Choice BHA - Skincare: Cetaphil is a fraction of the cost of the French line I was using with the same results. Buy eye cream in bulk when it goes on sale at Costco. TLDR: I live in a major VHCOL, I was a rouge Sephora member for years. Had my nails done every two weeks and hair every 4 weeks…. Never missed the latest make up drop. But now in this economy with kids…. I’d rather teach my daughters how to DIY it themselves, those skills will last a lifetime.
