**Blackburn's Parlor** by Solstice Scents.

**Solstice Scents Blackburn's Parlor** is really realistic on me and doesn't descend into artificially cloying territory like most ice cream scents do. If you want a beachside vibe they also have **Sea of Gray** with the same vanilla ice cream accord.

Solstice Scents Spirit Tree (Gardenia, Vanilla, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Soft Woods blend, Orange Blossom, Magnolia) smells extremely indolic to me. My note on trying this was, “indolic AF”.

Sawmill by Solstice Scents. My coworker sniffed my office and said "it smells like an Amish house I used to play in growing up." Honestly, yeah. Solid review.

Solstice Scents: Estate Spirits This one is all laid back shruggy energy, always half a smile on their ruddy face and it makes their eyes squinch up. They live on a boat and are perpetually loitering in doorways wearing real working man’s denim jeans and an oversized soft shruggy gray sweater. I hate hugs but this friend’s hugs are secure and not icky. Fantome: Tatami This friend talks about Art and you can hear the capital A. She goes to folk art shows at the art museum, where she’s a donor. She can get away with wearing full face makeup in the day and more at night. Her hats and shoes always match and she loves disturbing angular silhouettes. Olympic Orchids: Woodcut This guy is late thirties, early forties, and very slim from all the hiking and cycling he does. During the day he works at his job at the university where he’s also working on his dissertation on biochem. He’s an engineer, strategic and effective, and by night he protests, rallies crowds, and vandalizes and tries his hardest to further his many just causes.

I feel like Solstice Scents has like a woody vanilla base. Every scent I have from them always fades away to that same smell. Kinda like Manor. I LIKE it, but I wish some were more distinguished from one another. Still, I have mostly SS scents, and I love them.

**Solstice Scents - High Desert** today. "Desert sage, white sage, sandalwood, mitti, cacti, tobacco, hay, smoke, labdanum, etc." I love this scent, but it has basically no longevity, so I have to keep reapplying it. But that's ok because I'm a big fan of sage and this is sage-y as hell.

This sample arrived Saturday in a large order from Ajevie. **Possets - The Velvet Riding Habit** *(A simple and alluring blend of the most beautiful of roses and the sexiest of leathers.)* It was leaking, and I could smell nothing but an exquisite blooming rose overtaking the whole envelope, so I decided to go ahead and wear it today due to the spillage. Stunning rose, what a beauty! She is classic and powerful. Once completely dry, I can now recognize the leather; the rose is the dominant scent. Leather cream polish or saddle polish is more predominant in the smell, along with a slight "spicy note" reminiscent of aged cracked leather. Combining this scent with **Solstice Scents' Wilcox Potting** **Shed** *(Damp Soil Wooden Rafters, Spicy Basil, Mossy Terracotta, Mushroom, Leaves, Stone Floor*), the additional soil scent evoked a sense of dancing through an English Rose Garden.

i really like Solstice Scents' Library. it seems some people perceive it to smell more like a brand new coffee table book, but it smells more like an idealized used book store or small library to me.

Needed my 🐐 **Solstice Scents Manor.** The scent that made me fall in love with indie perfumery and my all time favorite. Yes she’s a sandalwood vanilla and she’s THE sandalwood vanilla. Everything else is just shadows on the wall of the cave

Starting off the day trying out Snowmint Mallow from Solstice Scents - Peppermint, Vanilla Cake, Sugar Cookies, Flaked Coconut & Marshmallow Crème - which I tried when I first got it but wanted to give one more chance before I added it to the destash list. It’s just… there’s like a whisper of peppermint and I just need to accept that not everything will be Pierrot’s Ghostheart and that’s fine. I’m not a big gourmand fan and I don’t mind certain vanillas in the background but this is like mostly vanilla cake and coconut and a little plasticky so I’m probably going to scrub it off a little later and do something else. Ah well, they can’t all be winners.

I actually found Solstice Scents’ Sea of Grey to be pretty similar, although it has the added aquatic notes! Ymmv it was not very briny on me, just creamy white amber, vanilla, and salt.
